Legal Consultation in Pune

Sometimes you don't need a lawyer yet — you need to know where you stand. A consultation gives you exactly that: an honest reading of your situation, your options, and what each would cost in time and money.

01Who this page is for

A legal consultation with our chamber is a structured, confidential session — in person at Kasba Peth or over video — where an advocate hears your matter, reviews your documents, and gives you a plain assessment: your legal position, realistic options, timelines, and the fee structure if you choose to proceed. There is no obligation to engage us afterwards.

People delay consulting a lawyer because they fear it commits them to litigation. It doesn't. The most valuable consultations we give end with 'you don't need to file anything' — and the second most valuable end with a problem caught early enough to stay small.

02The process, step by step

How a consultation works:

1

Book & share context

Call or use the form; a line or two about the matter lets the right advocate prepare.

2

The session

30–60 minutes, your documents on the table, your questions answered in plain language.

Scheduled slot
3

The assessment

Where you stand, your realistic options, timelines — and the fee structure in writing if you proceed.

4

Your decision

Proceed with us, proceed elsewhere, or don't proceed at all. The assessment is yours either way.

No obligation

03Documents required

Bring whatever you have

  • Any notice, summons or court papers received
  • Agreements or documents central to the matter
  • A timeline of events, even handwritten
  • Prior legal correspondence, if any
  • Questions you want answered — write them down

04Honest timelines

Consultations are typically scheduled within one to two working days — same day where the matter is urgent (an arrest risk, an expiring deadline, a hearing tomorrow). Video slots are available evenings for working professionals and across time zones for NRI clients.

05Mistakes we see every month

  • Waiting for the problem to 'become legal'By the time it obviously is, options have usually narrowed. Early advice is cheap; late advice is damage control.
  • Curating the storyAn assessment is only as honest as the facts. Everything you say is privileged — tell it whole.
  • Consulting five lawyers for five predictionsShop for competence and candour, not for the answer you hoped to hear.
  • Arriving without documentsPapers turn a general chat into a specific assessment. Bring everything, organised or not.

06Fees, discussed upfront

Every engagement begins with a written understanding of the fee structure — consultation, drafting, appearances — before any work starts. We will tell you plainly at the first meeting what your matter involves, and you will never see a charge we did not explain.

07Frequently asked questions

Is the consultation confidential even if I don't engage you?
Completely. Advocate-client privilege attaches to the consultation itself, whether or not you retain us afterwards. What you share stays in the room.
How should I prepare?
Gather every relevant paper, write a one-page timeline of events, and list your questions. Preparation on your side converts the session from orientation into strategy.
Can I consult on video from outside India?
Yes — a large share of our property, succession and matrimonial consultations are with NRI clients over video, scheduled across time zones. Documents are shared in advance for review.
What does a consultation cost?
The consultation fee is told to you when you book — before you commit, not after. If you engage us for the matter, the structure for drafting and appearances is put in writing at the outset.
